The Book

“That’s not a history book, that’s a cold case file!”   – Craig Baracco, Executive Director, Foothill Conservancy

Lost Gold Rush Towns of Sacramento is now available at local bookstores including Beers and Avid Reader on Broadway. If you prefer online shopping, please buy it through our publisher, Arcadia Press.

Maps from the Book:

While we are generally pleased with the book, and delighted by the print quality, we admittedly misjudged how small some of the maps would be. We appreciate the feedback of everyone who has had to squint at whatever we are trying to illustrate. It turns out a trusty ol’ magnifying glass actually works, in a testament to the crispness of the printing. But who wants to mess around with that?

In any case, a lot of the maps are too small, so until we arrange for the oversized coffee-table reprint, please accept the following links to an assortment of maps, which will be expanded to eventually include all of the geographic images that appear. (currently sample for format testing)
